In a floating binary bet you "close out" by taking the equal and opposite side of your present bet.
For example, we may offer a price of 60-65 for the Dow to finish up at the end of the day. You think the Dow will rise, so you "Buy" at 65 for £10 a point.
Later in the day, the Dow has fallen and we are now offering a price of 30-35. To close this bet out and cut your losses you would "Sell" at 30 points for the same stake i.e. £10 a point. Your losses on the bet would be:
(65 - 30) x £10 = £350
If the bet had been left to expire and settled at 0 you would have lost:
(65 - 0) x £10 = £650
By closing out early you saved yourself a further £300 loss.
You cannot close a floating odds bet or any fixed bet early.
