New Home Sales

These are figures released by the U.S. Department of Commerce's Census Board on a monthly basis. They measure house sales by number and by price.

New Home Sales are watched with interest as they can be an early symptom of economic health – or otherwise. Rising figures suggest confidence and increased wealth, falling house sales can spark a global economic crisis: see CDO – Collateralised Debt Obligation
